Why we do this
Our Mission
Kid-first, fun-first, always.
Built for the littlest players
Nothing out there was made for toddlers. So we made it.
When we surveyed what was out there for early developmental, recreational, and casual young soccer players in Virginia, we found clubs and classes geared almost entirely toward competitive, older athletes — not the little ones hungry to play.
Parents from all over Virginia told us the same thing: there was nothing for their toddlers and tykes, whom they desperately wanted taught athletic fundamentals.
And those fundamentals aren’t just skills on the pitch. They’re the rules of life that govern all human relationships — an unbreakable thread weaving our lives together, or pulling them apart.
Take the cleated toddler who kicks the ball at their teammates to grab the coach’s attention. In the Club, that player quickly learns tantrums are neither paid nor punished — they’re sidelined to sit and think about what they did, and how their behavior affects others and themselves.
In the game of life, a team is defined by its weakest link — and that link is never made weak by lack of skill. Skill can be taught, trained, and honed. It’s made weak by attitude, and an attitude of intolerance or self-centeredness is the weakest of them all.
Our goal: raise both the human and athletic awareness and ability of every player — and bring much-needed fun and friendship to our community.
What every class runs on
Three things, every time
Teamwork
Lions play as a pack. Sharing, listening, cheering each other on — the soccer is how we practice being a good teammate, on the pitch and off it.
Exercise
A warmup, three games, and a hand stamp — running, kicking, and giggling that builds healthy bodies and minds, and healthy habits that stick around long after preschool.
Fun
No tryouts, no drills-for-drills’-sake, no standing in line. If the kids aren’t laughing, we’re doing it wrong — and our coaches make sure we never do it wrong.
